Promise Keepers needs to work
November 23, 2004
My son and I have been to at least 10 Promisekeepers events around the country. For both of us, it has been a great experience. It's thousands of guys getting together in arenas and stadiums professing their need for Jesus Christ in their lives. There are also speakers that present with incredible relevance to every guy's life. One constant has always been . . .
an emphasis on Christian guys forming small support groups centered around prayer and Bible study.
Great idea, but I don't see it happening on a church level, at least not in mine or in my denominiation. That's a shame. Guys lose. Families lose. That's got to change and I'm praying hard that it does.
Such groups can be a real difference maker for guys, regardless of the life stage they're at.
