Getting my heart ready to go to church

I have another half hour before I start getting ready for church.

To make church more than just a Sunday morning event, I know that I need to get my heart in the right place.  I saw this quote from chapter 3 of Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Life, which really impressed me as a starting point:

Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose life has no meaning.  Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.

Right now, on my iBook's iTunes, I'm playing the Agnus Dei by Michael W. Smith.  And, then All Hail the Power by Wintley Phipps.

If God's there at church this morning, then I want to be able to witness his presence.  I don't have any pithy, inspirational thoughts other than I know God's out there and right here, but at times he seems distant, even in church.

I don't want to get into the position of Job in Job 7:16 where he says:  "I give up; I am tired of living.  Leave me alone.  My life makes no sense." (TEV)

That's my prayer this morning before church.  I also pray for the worship for my wife and my daughter and son.
